Oh this is so the news I’ve been waiting for!

The XBMC project announced yesterday they are recruiting developers for a Linux port. I have to admit this would not have meant anything to me if my ever so geeky brother-in-law had not set me down the path with a surprise birthday present a little more than three years ago. Now, rarely a day goes by without me and my family making some use of this awesome multimedia player. My only disappointment came when we got an HDTV and I realized I was one step closer to exceeding the hardware capabilities higher resolution playback demands. But I am worried no more thanks to the good news. I just wish I could code in C++ so I could help move things along.

Now all I have to do is convince my wife to let me start saving for a new Linux server…
